Read Jakarta Globe this morning and saw an interesting article, that Indonesia has been asked to draft out an international standard for tempeh, the soybean cake.
(For those who don’t know, tempeh is the soybean cake that normally accompanies your Tahu in your Nasi Ayam Penyet).
Another fact was, Indonesia had actually helped to draft the instant noodle standard too.
A Rome-based Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), which was established in 1963 by the Food and Agriculture Organization and the WHO. This intergovernmental body is sort of a reference point for international disputes wrt food safety and consumer protection.
