BYOD

BYOD aka bring your own devices to the workplaces is booming. I attended a meeting this morning, look around….5% on paper and pen, 80% on iPad, 10%iPhone and 5% on memory and brain power alone. I had been looking around in past meetings and the upward trend for mobile devices is definitely there.

Students are also seen adopting mobile device at a feverish rate. Compare this to the extremely sluggish take-up rate for Notebook Ownership scheme.

Why then is our infrastructure very much on desktop and laptops only? Our collaboration at workplace, meeting rooms and such, is around PC and laptops.

However, with mobile devices, it will revolve around human and people, and definitely content-centric. Lots of data.
