The Last Train into Tanjong Pagar @ Bukit Timah Railway

We took a trip down to Bukit Timah Railway Station just now. It was an unused station but KTM trains continued to pass through it daily since 1932. The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and together with the Bukit Timah Railway Station and the track and vast green land in between and right up till Woodlands will be handed over back to Singapore come 1 July 2011.

(it was reportedly remove 1 week after the hand over)

It was dark when the last train into Singapore arrived. Although late, we sure knew how to party. There were air horns everywhere, cold champagnes and beers, lots of story telling by the station and KTM staff and everyone and photo taking.

Some were over enthusiastic though, and fortunately a few police officers were around to remind them.

Didn’t take much pictures, but we had fun. 3 passing trains in total and we cheered and waved to each one. A real pity my kids will not be able to enjoy this view here in the future.
